When Not to Trade Breakouts

Many breakout losses start before the entry. The market was already telling you the setup did not fit the regime.

Check for chop, weak agreement, and nearby resistance before taking breakout risk.

Tool value

  • Delayed ES/NQ market-plan pages
  • Explicit no-trade warnings from the Daily Plan
  • Invalidation text that defines when the read is wrong

Before risking a funded account

  1. 1Do not force breakouts when gamma or regime says chop.
  2. 2Require at least one confirmation beyond price poking a level.
  3. 3Stop trading the read when invalidation triggers.

The Breakout Filter

The useful question is not whether price can move. It is whether the current regime gives the move enough quality to risk a funded account.

No-Trade Is a Decision

WAIT and NO-TRADE states are designed to reduce forced trades. The system is valuable when it prevents the low-quality entry.
